Annual Conference
Annapolis, MD - June 7th to June 10th
 

Our event will begin on Sunday June 7, 2009 with registration beginning at 4:30 PM. The Annapolis Marriott Waterfront located in historic downtown Annapolis will be the site for the conference. Registration can now be made at ARDA’s website www.amraildev.com via PayPal® registration is $495 for members, $695 for non-members, $295 honorary/retired, and $185 for spouse/guest.   For those wishing to be invoiced for the Conference and pay by check, please email your request to roger.bennett@nscorp.com .

Hotel booking and travel information is listed below under the heading Hotel and Transportation SummaryARDA has a limited block of rooms, so please make your hotel reservations as soon as possible as once our block is filled booking will be on a space available basis. 

Our program is nearly finalized, planned programs include: Sustainability Initiatives by two Class 1 Railroads, Rails with Trails, Industry & Federal Green Transport, Land Use Planning along Rail Corridors, Grant and Bond Programs for Rail. C. Wick Moorman, Chairman, CEO & President of Norfolk Southern Corporations is currently confirmed to be our Keynote Luncheon Speaker on Monday. On Tuesday our program turns to Technology with three presentations on GIS and a presentation on Rail Network Modeling.

Golf is planned for those arriving early Sunday, with tee times beginning at 10AM at The Golf Club at South River www.golfclubsr.com ; the additional fee for golf is $125. A Spouse/Guest event is planned for Monday June 8 and will include a private guided “Three Centuries" Walking Tour of the historic venues of Annapolis concluding with lunch at the Middletown Tavern (you don’t often get to eat in a 250 year old tavern). On Tuesday following our program both Conference Attendees and Spouse/Guests are in for a special time as ARDA embarks on a three hour tour of the Chesapeake Bay aboard the Catherine Marie departing from Annapolis City Dock which is located a short stroll from the hotel. On Tuesday evening the Conference will conclude with The President’s Reception and Annual Banquet to be held in the Marriott Ballroom and Patio which overlooks Annapolis Harbor.
